There are hundreds of excuses out there not to run. But how many times have you sat down and tried to find reasons to run. Running is a very easy task, so is finding a good reason to run. If you're having trouble, here are a few reasons to run.

Running is easy and unless you are a toddler you probably not only know how to do it but have been doing it for some time. It's also one of the more inexpensive hobbies when it comes to staying in shape. You don't need a gym membership or expensive bike, just a good pair of shoes and the open road.

Next on the list is the weight loss contributions that running provides. You can't argue that running is good for burning calories but did you know that you can burn more calories in a fixed time span that just about any other exercise. Running and marathon training are great ways to stay trim.

Lower stress and better sleep - who doesn't like the sound of that. Running can have great benefits on both of these items because it is proven to naturally lower our stress levels and elevate our mood by releasing endorphins.

How about a strong heart and lower blood pressure. Running greatly reduces blood pressure and makes the heart stronger which will cause it to beat more slowly and efficiently, so it will move more blood with less effort.

Trail running and training for a marathon off road have the added benefit of giving you better coordination and flexibility. Because you have to adapt to uneven terrain you will be forced to become lighter on you feet and move quicker. Take a look at adding some distance off road to your marathon training schedule

The act marathon training of has also become a great weekend activity that promotes friendship and community. Many major cities and metropolitan areas have formal running clubs that raise money for charitable organizations.
