Trail running is a good exercise; it is popular in the United Stated because of what it can do to a person's health. It takes place on hiking trails, such as single track trails, on trailheads, and on places which is not accessible by roads.

Those living in the Mountain States, the Western US and California are very active trail runners because of the location of the places. A usual race distances are between 10 km and 50 km. A trail runner may undergo a series of ascending and descending in a course of single run.

Trail running takes place on hiking trails like, single track trails, and fire roads. Running may include from a variety of terrains like mountains, hills, forests, deserts, and narrow forested passages.

A trail runner can ascend and descend thousands of feet in a single run only. It sometimes incorporates non-running activities as sometimes rough terrain may require hiking. Trail running is often challenging and a rewarding sport to have. It also takes a lot of self-discipline to be involved in this type of sport.

What is good about these shoes is that you are really protected, especially on sprains that most of the trail runners experience. They are also built to provide cushioning and motion control to prevent over-use injuries like knee-pain, and shin splints.

The most common injury in trail running is acute ankle sprain. Trail running shoes are designed for this not to happen. The shoes are tested on various surfaces to test its stability, since runners are mostly in different paths.

The average life span of a running shoe is between 350-500 miles, depending on some models. If you are runner that averages a run for 20 miles per week, then expect your shoes to last for about 4-6months of use.

When you are a trail runner, your feet undergoes a lot of trauma, that is why it is essential that you will only use shoes meant for trail running alone to protect your feet, and yourself to have a better trail running experience.
