A Buyer's Review On The Different Designs Of Tubbs Snowshoes

by Emma Bauer

Established in 1906, this brand is rapidly becoming popular in the market. The company that manufactures Tubbs Snowshoes took advantage of the latest technology just to make them comfortable and durable. In order to suit varying types of consumer needs, these snowshoes were further designed into four styles for both men and women.

To start off, we have the mountaineering type or "Tubbs Back Nation", which has three equally awesome varieties which all feature a certain snake crampon. It's best for adventurers who often engage in extreme snowshoeing. The Tubbs Couloir, with its "Anaconda" design, is highly resistant to pressure because of its durable deck. Its aluminum frame is light but tough enough to endure the harshness of rocky slopes. To help its wearer tolerate lengthy and challenging hikes, it showcases a heel lift and flex tail for reduced tension at the joints. These two features prove to be helpful when trekking on rocky hills and steep slopes.

The second variety is the Tubbs Mountaineer. From the word itself, it's reputed to allow a mountaineer to travel anywhere without being bothered by the amount of snowfall. Impressively, it provides utmost comfort with its tough yet lightweight material. If the Couloir has Anaconda, this one has the ultra assertive Viper crampon for max grip.

The last one which uses a "Cobra" crampon is called the Tubbs Day Hiking Snowshoes. Conveniently placed under the ball of the foot, the crampon infiltrates through any degree of snowfall without much problems, thus making this variety sufficient enough for rugged terrains also.

The Tubbs' Fitness Snowshoe, as its name implies, is the type needed by people who want to get into shape. It's a running type of snowshoes made for cross-training and competitive snowshoeing on hard packed trails. It's developed for greatest maneuverability while performing intense cardio workouts, making it an excellent way to burn calories.

The third one is Tubbs Venture. This one may not have the typical and significant characteristics of a snowshoe but it has a Torsion deck-a feature that permits more convenient traction when dealing with rocky terrains. It's highly recommended for athletic hikers who love extreme mountaineering. It has asymmetrical bindings to keep the feet steady. It also has a flex tail to prevent excessive joint tension. To sum it all, it's a compact footwear that is ideal to use for lengthy hikes on the snowy mountains.

Finally, the Tubbs Trail Walking Snowshoes, is the last but not the least among the ranges of Tubbs snowshoes. Just like the Back Nation, this one also comes in three varieties, all of which are intended for slight to moderate landscapes. For beginners in snowshoeing, they can choose either Tubbs Xplore or Flex TRK. The difference between the two is that Flex TRK focuses on comfort through its shock absorbing feature, while Xplore has a stable tail that makes it easy to walk on snow. The third one is Tubbs Frontier. With its unique back and front braking teeth, this variety is used for snowshoeing on hills, forests, parks and lakes.
